Duties of the President

Article IV, Section 1

The President shall:

1. Act as the chair of all membership and Steering Committee meetings;
2. Be the principal executive officer of the organization;
3. Act as a financial officer of the organization, who shall be authorized to co-sign financial instruments and make regular and usual disbursements of funds;
4. Represent the organization in all public matters, including official bodies and the media;
5. Act as the delegate to the Central Labor Council, and the state AFL-CIO body;
6. Act as the delegate to the convention of the AFT or conventions of its affiliated bodies;
7. Assist the Grievance Committee, as needed; and
8. Work to ensure a smooth transition of duties and knowledge.
